Disappointment on Stat Holiday

While I am writing this post, I am praying for hot water to be back in my bathroom. What is worse than not having hot water on statutory holiday??!! For the fact that the building manager is away and no one is working?!! Awwww..... (plus I desperately want & need a shower after a camp.......)

I wish I have more positive things to blog about... but here I present you a disappointed purchase of mine:

Too Faced Glamour to go palette $18 CAD

I purchased this a while ago (actually quite a long time ago), and I was attracted to the fact that it is so compact and contains eyeshadows, blush, bronzer and lipgloss. I thought it will be perfect for traveling and a great way to try out Too Faced products.

Now as you can see from the picture, products on the bottom compartment shatters and this picture was taken right after I bought this from the store. I went back the next day for an exchange and guess what, it shatters AGAIN! this time, the eyeshodws. I am not sure why, I haven't brought it anywhere, it was just sitting in my cabinet. And what is even more annoying is the shattered products fly to everywhere and "contaminate" other products. Being designed as a "traveling" palette, I think this is totally unacceptable.

Maybe it's just me having bad luck, but whether or not this is the case, it has definitely prevented me from trying other Too Faced eyeshadows (yes, from my opinion the pigmentation of the shadows in this palette is horrible and lots of fall-outs!). I do like the blush and the lipgloss but it is just not worth it for me to keep this palette anymore.

Now my hope is to have a nice shower tonight!!!! >.<  (A plumber is coming to try to fix the water pressure.)

Feb 21 12:13 AM Update: No, the plumber was unable to fix it today and said he has to come back tomorrow. Worse? No water for my entire apartment for the entire day including cold water and the toilet...... I have my friend to thank for because I am sleeping over at her place tonight. And yes, I took a shower!

Quick post on Kiehl's

I have so much to update and don't know where to start! Although it is officially February (btw, can you believe it?!), it is nowhere near Spring. Winter weather is still going strong, at least in my part of the world. =S Speaking of Winter, I have tried & used up two Kiehl's products in the past few months and I am positive that I will be repurchasing them, especially for the cold & dry season.

I cannot say enough good things about this body butter. The texture is so unique, and as it described, it really is like whipped butter! Very light-weight, smells awesome and comforting! It absorbs fairly quickly and leaves your skin so soft, especially when I wake up the next morning. LOVE it!!!

When I ordered the body butter, I also received a sample of the Ultimate Strength Hand Salve. I consider myself a handcream addict and I have tried a lot! Not sure why I have never tried this particular handcream before but here I come. I absolutely LOVE this handcream, and I have to say it is by far the most moisturizing yet non-greasy, as well as long-lasting handcream I have tried. It absorbs very quickly and it leaves a feeling that your hands are protected. But don't get me wrong, it is not like an oily film on your hands. Not at all! It really is non-greasy and this long-lasting protecting property is what I like the most about it. (Hence the name salve? ;-) ) The only downside of this handcream is probably the scent. It actually doesn't really have a scent, but you can kind of smell some chemical scents? I personally am not bordered by the slight chemical scent/no scent but I can see people not liking it because us girls often are attracted to heavenly scented handcreams (like the popular Crabtree & Evelyn range).

I am definitely going to keep these two products in mind when I ran out of my current products, or when next Winter hits.

Cheers,
Lorraine
